Welcome to our site!

Our mission – “Celebrate and Share Christ with our community and throughout our world.”

We are a community church open to all who wish to join us in worship and in fellowship with others. All are welcome.

Church Sanctuary and Stewart Hall are accessible to people with disabilities.

Our church address is 285 North 2nd St., Hotchkiss, CO.  81419

Where in our community is God calling us to serve?? How are we sharing God’s Love??

Each Sunday Rev. Josh will have posted his worship message via Facebook live & YouTube.  You do not need to have a Facebook or YouTube account. You will receive an email notification that he has posted his sermon video on Youtube.

    •  Have you had a fever of 100.4 degrees in the last 48 hours?
    • Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat?
    • Persons who answer yes to any of the above questions or people who are having symptoms of COVID-19–as well as persons who have had close contact with a person who has symptoms like dry cough, chest tightness, and/or fever– are asked to refrain from participating in in-person services.

Paonia United Methodist Church worship at 11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary

  • Masks are required for all attendees. If you cannot or will not wear a mask, please worship with us in one of the alternative ways outlined below.
  • We will practice social distancing at all times. Seating spaces will be marked in the pews so we can all maintain six feet of separation.
  • All participants will be asked to conduct a health self-check before entering the building.
  • Fellowship Hall will be closed.
  • We are assembling cleaning/sanitizing teams to help with the extra cleaning that will be necessary to keep the building open for worship. If you are willing to be a part of a cleaning team, please call the church office and leave a message.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for all attendees.
  • Sanitizing wipes will be available in the restroom so you can sanitize surfaces before using the restroom.
  • There will be no hymn singing. We will play one verse of each hymn. You are invited to meditate on the lyrics as the hymn is played.
  • There will be no “call and response” such as our Call to Worship. This is to minimize the aerosol droplets that we might exhales while singing or speaking loudly.
  • We will not pass the peace. For the time being we will not celebrate communion (we hope to change this in the future).
  • We will not pass the offering plate. There will be a place to drop your offerings as you enter or exit worship.
  • There will be no hymnals, pew Bibles, offering envelopes, or writing utensils in the pews.
  • Please enter through the large wooden double doors.
  • Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes early.
  • Please depart immediately upon conclusion of worship.
  • Please know that we wish we didn’t have to do any of this, but we think it is the best way for us to minimize risk.
