Our mission – “Celebrate and Share Christ with our community and throughout our world.”

We are a community church open to all who wish to join us in worship and in fellowship with others. All are welcome.

Church Sanctuary and Stewart Hall are accessible to people with disabilities.

Our church address is 285 North 2nd St., Hotchkiss, CO.  81419

Where in our community is God calling us to serve?? How are we sharing God’s Love??

New Worship Times at Hotchkiss and Paonia Starting  Sunday, July 4th

Effective July 4th, Hotchkiss Community UMC will meet for worship at 9:30 a.m., and Paonia UMC will worship at 11 a.m.
Adult Sunday school will meet in Hotchkiss 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Sundays. More details on this will be forthcoming.

Sunday, June 6th – during the worship service – children will meet downstairs. They will consider how the gospel spread across the world while playing with Japanese koinobori (carp kites). Each child will get to take a kite home. Join us Sunday in Hotchkiss!

Outing to Dark Canyon Join us Sunday June 11 for a short hike in Dark Canyon. We will meet at the Dark Canyon trailhead at Erickson Springs campground at 1:30 p.m. We will start with a centering prayer to help us engage our sense of gratitude and then hike about one mile to a place my family knows as “The Caves.” While there we will have a time of guided reflection on the significance of water before returning to our cars and heading home. Bring drinking water, snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing. This outing is appropriate for all ages.

North Fork Lavender Farm Tours — Is lavender mentioned in the Bible? Was lavender used to anoint Jesus for burial? Maybe … there is some debate, but we will spend the afternoon exploring the (potentially) biblical, Roman  and modern uses of this amazing herb. June 27 is the North Fork Lavender Farm Tour. We will meet at 1 p.m. at Hotchkiss Community United Methodist Church and carpool to Elevation Herbal Tea and then on to Stanton Farms (those who would like to continue on to Lamborn Mesa Farm before looping back to Conner Orchard may do so on their own). Along the way we will not only learn about the uses of lavender but also seek to understand how God communicates with us through all our senses. This outing is appropriate for all ages.

Ten Commandments Book/Video Study starts May 18, 2021

At the request of some of our church members, we will study Adam Hamilton’s new book Words of Life: Jesus and the Promise of the Ten Commandments Today. This 10-session book and video study will meet at 11:30 a.m.,Tuesdays, May 18 through June 20. We will meet in person in the Paonia UMC fellowship hall. This should allow us enough space to view the video together while still physically distancing. As I write this, we are still under a mask mandate, so please wear a mask if you attend.   If you need help ordering a book, please let Rev. Josh know.  You may email him at jlhpastor@gmail.com

You may drop your offering there as you enter or exit worship. For those who are not comfortable dropping off their offering before or after worship or for those who are worshipping with us online, via the radio, or with our Worship at Home mailing, you may mail your offering in to the church office using the addresses below.
